A lifes mission

I’ve known for quite a long time that I wanted to help people create habits around exercise. It’s always been a goal of mine to make exercise something that feels like a regular, natural part of life.

As much as being a personal trainer is a passion (it’s also fun and, to be quite honest with you—and I normally am—I do love a chat), I’ve known there was something just beyond that that really sparked my interest. The personal training side is wonderful, but there was always something more I wanted to dig into, something deeper that I felt drawn toward.

I think it was over the years of seeing all these workout programs that were on offer—the “8 weeks to this,” the “Slim down here,” and the “This is the program you NEED”—that I started to realise what was missing. What I’ve always thought is lacking in these programs is one essential element:

How do we make changes to our lives… and then stick to it?

There are so many wonderful programs out there, so much well-intentioned content designed to help people achieve their fitness goals.

However, the stats don’t lie. Despite all the options available, people are not getting fitter, and the programs aren’t sticking. People sign up for these amazing-sounding programs, excited to see results, but in many cases, those results never seem to come to fruition.

The reason? Sustainability.

The ability to stick with something, especially when it’s hard, is often what makes or breaks someone’s success.

So I’ve asked myself:

What if it didn’t have to be this way?

What if there was a way to make fitness stick—not just as a short-term goal but as a lifelong habit? Hence, I’ve found my life’s purpose.

If you don’t know your life’s purpose, can I suggest that if you’ve got 5 minutes to spare right now, you check out the TED talk titled “How to know your life purpose in 5 minutes”? You can find it here: https://youtu.be/vVsXO9brK7M.

This raw, powerful footage has been viewed more than 19 million times for a reason. The content is excellent, and it truly resonates with anyone who’s struggling to find direction.

Even though I’ve always kind of known what I want to do, it can still be hard to put it into words. But after watching that 5-minute video, it clicked. It’s super simple. I finally realised my purpose:

I HELP WOMEN MAKE EXERCISE A REGULAR PART OF THEIR LIVES.

It’s not my life’s purpose to get you to squat perfectly or to lift a certain amount of weight. I’m not here to obsess over every little detail of your form or push you to do more than you’re ready for.

What I want to do is help you start exercising and, more importantly, to help you keep doing it.

Oh, just saying that gets those tingly feelings up and down my spine. It’s the same feeling my daughter looks for every night when she asks for a back tickle before bed: “Use your nails, mummy… You’re not doing the whole area, mummy… That’s not long enough, mum…” She’s hilarious, and it’s those little moments that remind me of why I do this.

The truth is, we think the challenge is in picking the program. We ask ourselves, “Shall I choose one where I have to exercise every day? Or 5 times a week? Should it require no equipment?”

But the real challenge isn’t picking the right program—it’s sticking to something in the long term. The challenge is repetition, showing up, doing it day after day, even when you don’t feel like it. That’s the hard part. And that’s what I want to help people with.

If that means I need to film 3 new workouts every week to give you something new and fresh to keep you motivated, then I’ll do that!

I’ll keep providing content that works for you and encourages you to keep going because I believe in YOU. You don’t have to do it perfectly, but you do have to keep showing up.

You can move… and more importantly, you can keep moving.

You’ve got this.
